Magic in the Making
Sterling Earthling began in 2019 providing vintage and antique silver jewelry. After working in the business for years, valuing estates’ jewelry and antique silver collections, the owner Britt set out on her own. The name was inspired by her favorite childhood t-shirt - it had a giant, lime green, sparkly alien face on it. Like herself, it was quirky, a little weird, and definitely made her stand out from the crowd. As she grew, she learned to hide that part of herself to fit in, but now has learned to embrace it.
In 2021, she began teaching herself metalsmithing. It came naturally, as it was in her bloodline as an ancestral gift. The last three generations of her family are welders. After doing genealogy research, she found she hailed from a long line of metalsmiths. Dating back as far as the 1600s, her ancestors were renowned masters of cutlers guilds who created weaponry, relics, and more. Combining her love of creating art with her interest in gemstones and their metaphysical properties, each piece is made with love and imbued with intentional spirit out of her home studio in Nashville.
Sterling Earthling has grown into something now that uses all of the elements - earth, air, water, fire - combined with some magic, to create one-of-a-kind pieces. Taking her ancestral gifts of welding, intuition, and an engineering mind, she grew these gifts with her life experiences and a lot of practice to incorporate them into her art.
Metals and gemstones have their respective metaphysical properties, and when combined they can create an amulet for the wearer. Each piece is created equally with love and intention to create an heirloom piece to help you on your life journey, and can be passed onto future generations for their journeys.
