FAQs

What metals do you use?

Sterling Silver & Fine Silver

Both sterling and fine silver are used in the silver pieces. Sterling silver is a standard purity used in jewelry, meaning the jewelry is 925 fine - or 92.5% silver and 7.5% alloy metal. Fine silver is also used regularly in jewelry. Fine silver is 999 fine - or 99.9% pure silver.

Pure Copper

Only pure copper is used in our copper jewelry. This means the copper is 999 fine or 99.9% copper. All copper jewelry comes with a clear lacquer finish to protect it from premature patina.

Niobium

On our copper earrings, we use niobium ear threads. Niobium is a hypoallergenic metal commonly used for piercings and medical implants. It is a great metal for sensitive ears.

Titanium

As an option for our silver jewelry, we can switch out the silver ear threads for titanium. Titanium is a hypoallergenic metal commonly used for piercings and medical implants. It is a great metal for sensitive ears.

Metal Allergies & Stretched Ears

If you are allergic to sterling silver ear threads, we can easily swap them out for implant grade titanium ear threads. The titanium is slightly darker than sterling silver, but is a great hypoallergenic option.

Do you have stretched ears, but want a pair of our earrings? We can easily swap out the threads for a larger earring thread with a hook clasp. This type of thread allows them to thread through your gauges and the hook clasp prevents them from falling out.

Jewelry Care

To maintain the quality of your jewelry, please do not wear it while swimming, showering, cleaning with harsh chemicals, or in situations where the jewelry can easily be damaged (i.e. fixing your car.)

In the event that your jewelry needs to be polished, since sterling silver does tarnish, it can be polished with a Sunshine polishing cloth, which is included in our Amulet Protection Kit.
