The Forged Dagger is an example of our upcoming intuitive customs. Each intuitive custom is a 1 of 1 and will not be recreated.
The necklace features a handmade dagger of sterling silver with a garnet hanging from it. The paper clip chain is sterling silver and 18 inches long. The entire necklace is made of sterling silver and measures 22 inches in total length to the end of the garnet.
Daggers are a close combat weapon. They have been symbols of protection and strength, but also used have been used in rituals across many cultures. As the saying “a double edged sword” goes, it can represent both conflict and justice depending on its use.
Historically, garnet has been known as the warrior’s stone - worn as a protective talisman by warriors across many faiths and times. Garnet promotes strength, confidence, and transmuting the negative into positive.
The intuitive messages I received while creating this piece are as follows:
You are no stranger to pain. You have been deceived and stabbed in the back by those you’ve trusted the most. Over time, you pulled the knives out, and forged your own dagger from the remnants of those from your back. Out of survival, you became a warrior. You promised yourself to never let anyone hurt you again by tirelessly fighting and defending yourself. You earned a reputation inevitably leading to becoming a lone wolf with no one daring to battle you. Struggling with the inner conflict of becoming like your enemies, will you learn to lay down the sword?
Have you learned to let those in who want to help you? The ones who see the deep wounds beneath your armor and want nothing but to help you heal? What’s done cannot be undone, but you can choose a different path forward. One of love, compassion, and empathy - greater weapons than any sword.
Do you choose to hide your past behind a curtain for no one to see? Or will you choose to be vulnerable, pull the curtains open, and teach others to learn from your past? Inspire those with similar paths to only wield their weapons out of absolute necessity? Become a guiding light for a better future by exposing your wrongdoings and pain as a lesson to those who are also in pain. We can choose to let our past define us, or we can transmute the past pain into something beautiful that lies ahead. Which path will you choose? It’s never too late to forge a new path.
”Straight Through the Heart” by Dio
”Here it comes again straight through the heart, in the middle of the heart. Now don’t stand still, they’ll get you right through your heart.”
It began with stabs in the back, fleeing before you could identify them. You could see through this, see their fear in their anonymity. It said more about them than you. The pains that haunt you are the ones that hit you straight through the heart - where you froze and could only stare at the eyes that deceived you. This changed everything. You did not choose the path of the fighter - it chose you out of survival. You forged your own weapon to protect yourself from ever experiencing that pain and deception again.
”Bow Down” by I Prevail
”Yeah, I come alive, I’ll survive, take on anything. So paint a target on my back, let ‘em come for me. I don’t fall, don’t quit, don’t ever sleep. ‘Cause I’m on another level that you’ll never reach.”
You didn’t build a fortress - you are the fortress. You studied those who deceived you, calculated every potential move. You forged your own weapon from those used against you. It consumed you, a one track mindset - defeat anyone before they get a single swing at you. You reached mastery, where no one can harm you again. Many bow down before you, as they know your reputation, and know they could not survive a battle with you. However, you’ve now become a lone wolf. You are one with your weapon. No one can get close to you because of the walls you’ve built to protect yourself. Can you learn to put the sword down? Use it only when absolutely necessary?
”Lay Your World on Me” by Ozzy Osbourne
“Give me your pain, give me your anger. Let me be your rock. I can be the pillar of strength that you need. I’ll help you keep it all together. It’s better late than never. Lay your world on me. I can take the weight.”
You finally met your match - someone with a stronger weapon than you could wield. Love. Compassion. Empathy. Someone who could see through the warrior image and see the immense pain beneath. Through persistent patience, you slowly let them in close. They helped tend to and heal even your deepest wounds. When you fell back into old habits out of fear, they continuously met you with compassion. This is a form of strength you’ve never witnessed in all your battles. You admire them deeply, wish to be more like them. In time, you learn to lay down your sword - only wielding it out of absolute necessity.
“Peacefield” by Ghost
“We are the legion, join us. One day, fate will find a way through the marches of death and right back to the bearer of light.”
You are learning balance. The blood of many have covered your sword, and you cannot undo that. What you can do is teach others to wield their weapons, but only when absolutely necessary. Not out of revenge, but only for protection. To stand up against tyrants that subject the majority to pain and suffering. Your skills can be shared and used to help the greater good. You can’t undo what has been done, but you can be a guiding light for a better tomorrow. Inspire the generations to come to learn from your mistakes and triumphs. Weapons are used out of necessity, but love and compassion will always be your strongest asset.
